Name Jang Jang
Type Yakiniku
Vibe If you like fried meat, this place is for you. Their deal is 2 hour nomi hodi + tabe hodi (all you can eat, all you can drink), ¥3000 for boys, ¥2500 for girls. Order what you want, the staff bring it out then you cook it yourself in your own in-table barbeque. Awesome. Note that there's no english or picture menu's so you'll need to speak a little Japanese (or go with someone who does). The menu doesn't stop at meat though, there's a few salads and an excellent 'bibinba'. Hot tip: order the 'karubi', affectionately known to the gaijin regulars as 'little steaks'. This restaurant gets a kumavibe highly recommended.
Location Nishi Ginza Dori. Walking down Shimotori, turn right into Nishi Ginza and it's a few metres up on your left.
Pricing 2hr nomi-hodi + tabe-hodi only, ¥3000 for boys, ¥2500 for girls.

Name Jang Jang Go
Type Chinese
Vibe One of the best chinese restaurants in town. Not to be confused with the yaki niku restaurant Jang Jang, Jan Jang Go is a large softly lit tastefully decorated chinese restaurant offering an excellent selection of chinese dishes at reasonable prices. Menu is in Kanji however it does have pictures which makes it easier, and usually one or two of the staff speak a little english. Highly recommended, not a bad place to go if you're on a date.
Location Second Sight Building, 1F. Walking down Shimotori, turn right into Ginza Dori. Keep walking then turn left at the Festa Amusement Centre. You can't miss the big grey Second Sight building, Jang Jang Go is on the first floor.
Pricing Main dishes start at ¥700. Look for the special nomi hodi coupons in Hot Pepper.

Name The Tennis Club
Type Steak Restaurant - kind of.
Vibe Ok this is a Japanese restaurant that serves pretty decent steaks for reasonable prices. Pretty homely atmosphere, decor is straight from the 70's, kinda feel like your in your parents friends house. The food is good and reasonably priced, Suburban Sailor (our newest reviewer) had only one guff, and that is while the place looks extremely comfy, the seats are a little too low to the floor so you can't quite get settled. The Perv's (our skebe reporter) two cents: he likes the fact that there are mirrors on the walls. Makes looking at any female patrons indiscretely very easy indeed.
Location BF. Walking down Shimotori, take the second right after Daiei (Pronto is on the corner). Walk till the end of the street and it's in front of you (the sign is in katakana).
Pricing Steak set, including rice, miso, salad and desert from around ¥1400. Nomi hodi and tabe hodi deals from ¥2600.

Name Za Watami
Type Izakaya
Vibe Excellent izakaya. Very large with a nice interior, the food is good and quite well priced. English menu's available, as well as an extensive picture menu so there's no worries if you can't speak Japanese. Has the usual izakaya fare, the sashima platter is decent and the service is good.
Location 2-3F. Opposite the top of Shimotori, above Nova. You can't miss it.
Pricing Reasonable. Next time I go I'll jot down some figures.

Name Doma Doma
Type Izakaya
Vibe Another quality izakaya, similar to Za Watami although probably a little more upmarket. Extensive bilingual picture menu and quality food, you could do a lot worse.
Location BF at the start of Kamitori, on the left.
Pricing Little more expensive than most, however not too bad. Karage around ¥450.
